OBD-II Diagnostic Body (B) Trouble Code

Possible Cause

Common causes of B0923 is include shorted, open, corroded, or damaged wiring circuits or connectors, faulty shift solenoid/s, defective engine drivability sensors (especially the engine temperature sensor), dirty or contaminated transmission fluid that restricts flow, defective valve body, a faulty PCM. PCM failure is rare.

Common Symptoms

  1. This will help to determine whether or not the malfunction is intermittent
  2. Look for shorted or burned wiring and replace circuitry and connectors as required
  3. The PCM will read the sensor resistance and pass it
  4. To perform a thorough diagnosis, any transmission leaks should be repaired and the transmission should be filled with the proper amount and type of fluid (if the fluid smells really "burnt" and you are experienced enough to detect it, you may go ahead and condemn the transmission)

B0923 Troubleshooting

When you put your foot down on the brakes you expect your car to quietly slow down and come to a stop. The power your foot applies on the brake pedal is assisted by hydraulic pressure. Your foot's force engages a piston and caliper with brake pads attached (bonded abrasive and heat resistance metal or ceramic) to put pressure on the rotor. B0923 OBD2 reports a sensor fault, replacement of the sensor is unlikely to resolve the underlying problem. The fault is most likely to be caused by the systems that the sensor is monitoring, but might even be caused by the wiring to the sensor itself.

How to turn off B0923 check engine light ?

There are two ways to turn off the check engine light:

A repair technician can do so once repairs have been made.
The OBD II can automatically turn it off when it fails to detect the problem after several diagnostic cycles.
